The Carlyle owes its refined interior style to an inimitable roster of designers, including past greats Dorothy Draper and Mark Hampton to present-day stars Thierry Despont and Alexandra Champalimaud. Recent updates to the hotel's accommodations uphold The Carlyle's venerable design heritage while adding a touch of contemporary panache.

Classic Room
Handsomely appointed, these rooms feature either a king bed or two twin beds and offer a quiet interior courtyard or Madison Avenue view. Located on floors 3 through 14, Classic Rooms are approximately 350 square feet in size. All rooms in the hotel are individually decorated, with hardwood floors, area rugs, custom fabrics and linens, and unique artwork adorning the walls. A desk provides ample workspace with high-speed Internet access.

Superior Room
Superior Rooms feature either a king bed or two twin beds and are approximately 400 square feet of space. Located on floors 3 through 33, they offer either a quiet courtyard location or city views facing Madison Avenue. Superior Rooms feature all of the amenities of Classic Rooms, plus a larger seating area and additional closet space.

Deluxe Room
Deluxe Rooms are very large accommodations featuring either a king bed or two twin beds in approximately 500 square feet of space. Offering an entry foyer, spacious closets and a comfortable seating area featuring the Deluxe Rooms range throughout the hotel from floors 3 to 27. In addition, the rooms provide city views facing either Madison Avenue or 76th Street and most have a wet bar in the foyer and several have small pantries, ideal for longer visits.

Premier Rooms

Corner Premier Rooms are the largest single rooms available, featuring a king bed in approximately 525 square feet of space. The accommodation offers a large seating area featuring a love seat, coffee table and comfortable sitting chairs. The Corner Premier is a bright and airy space with windows overlooking both Madison Avenue and 76th Street. Designed by Mark Hampton, these rooms are furnished in genteel Anglo-European decor and are located on floors 3 through 10.

Madison Premier Rooms average approximately 500 square feet and feature a double-sized, four-fixture bathroom with separate, oversized stall shower and soaking tub. Designed by Alexandra Champalimaud and DiSanto & Associates, these rooms add a contemporary flair to the category and are located on floors 4 to 11.

Tower Premier Rooms provide guests with a king bed in approximately 450 square feet of space and are located between floors 20 to 33. They feature a small seating area and large picture windows which offer breathtaking vistas of the Manhattan skyline.

Classic Suite
Classic Suites feature either a king bed or two twin beds, are approximately 650 square feet in size and are located on floors 5 through 12. Each features a separate living room and bedroom, with the choice of either a small pantry area or a powder room off of the living room. The suite offers interior views in a quiet courtyard location. Tastefully appointed with traditional furnishings, the Classic Suite is individually decorated with hardwood floors, area rugs, fine fabrics and linens, and unique artwork adorning the walls.

Superior Suite
Superior Suites feature either a king bed or two twin beds and are approximately 700 square feet in size. The spacious entry foyer contains both a kitchenette and a powder room. These suites offer interior views in a quiet courtyard location and are located between floors 3 through and 16. Some Superior Suites offer connecting doors to adjacent rooms, creating a two-bedroom suite. The decor is reminiscent of an English residence rather than a hotel suite.

Deluxe Suite
The Deluxe Suite is a large king-bedded one-bedroom suite with a spacious entry foyer and ample closet space. The suites are approximately 850 square feet in size and are located on floors 3 to 16, offering city views of Madison Avenue and 76th Street. With southern exposure, Deluxe Suites are some of the brightest accommodations in the hotel. Many feature both a pantry and powder room, with a select few offering baby grand pianos. **Some Deluxe Suites can connect to adjacent rooms to create a two-bedroom suite.

Premier Suite
The Premier Suite, approximately 850 square feet in size, is a one-bedroom suite, featuring a king bed, a double-sized four-fixture bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. Designed by Alexandra Champalimaud and DiSanto & Associated, the suites are fashioned in a contemporary Louis XVI décor with red walls, original hardwood floors and imported rugs. Premier Suites are located between floors 3 through 10 and offer views of 76th Street. Most have pantries and powder rooms. **A few Premier Suites can connect to an adjacent guest room, creating a two-bedroom suite.

Carlyle Suite
Carlyle Suites are exclusive king-bedded one-bedroom corner suites offering approximately 1,000 square feet of space and located between floors 5 through 18. Individually appointed by interior designers such as Mark Hampton, Alexandra Champalimaud and Cameron Barnett, these suites range from classic British to modern décor. Carlyle Suites feature bright living rooms, expansive bedrooms and kitchenettes. Some of the suites feature a powder room and baby grand piano. **A few Carlyle Suites can connect to an adjacent guest room, creating a two-bedroom suite.

Specialty Suites
The following four suites make up the most unique room category within The Carlyle:

Suite 515 (The Deco Suite) is a large one-bedroom suite located on the 5th floor. Designed by Cameron Barnett, the suite echoes Art Deco design elements and offers over 1,200 square feet of space. The suite features a triple-sized living room with a state-of-the-art Plasma HDTV/DVD entertainment system, dining area for six, kitchenette and two full bathrooms, including a four-fixture bathroom containing a large stall shower and separate soaking tub.

Suite 1511 is a beautiful king-bedded two-bedroom suite. Designed by Alexandra Champalimaud, the suite offers guests over 1,500 square feet of space and a large patio overlooking 76th Street. The suite's contemporary design features state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, a full kitchen and two full bathrooms. **Suite 1511 can connect to an adjacent guest room, creating a three-bedroom suite.

Suite 1812 is The Carlyle's largest king-bedded one-bedroom suite with 1,400 square feet of space. It is an ideal space for entertaining, featuring a triple-sized living room with 14-foot ceilings, baby grand piano, mantle fireplace, seating area, small dining space, double-sized bedroom with his and her bathrooms, powder room and kitchenette. **Suite 1812 may be converted into a two-bedroom suite with the connection of an adjacent room.

Suite 3301 is handsomely appointed with beautiful antiques, rare prints and rich fabrics. It offers some of the best views of Central Park in all of New York City, with unobstructed views of the entire park, as well as Uptown Manhattan, courtesy of the living room's picture window. Spectacular views of both the park and Manhattan skyline may also be experienced from the suite's bedroom. **The suite can connect to an additional room to become a two-bedroom suite.

Tower Suite
The Carlyle's most luxurious one-bedroom suites are king-bedded, individually decorated and offer 1,100 square feet of living space. The suites feature two marble bathrooms, a large kitchen, an exclusive corner bedroom, unobstructed views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline and a grand piano. Through the foyer, the suites are able to connect to a second bedroom offering either one king or two twin beds thus creating a superb two-bedroom Deluxe Tower Suite. The Tower Suites feature classic genteel Anglo-European decor.

Superior Two-Bedroom Suite
Superior Two-Bedroom Suites offer approximately 1,300 square feet of space and feature a king bed in one bedroom and two twin beds in the second. Residential in feeling, these spacious accommodations provide guests with quiet, interior courtyard views with two full bathrooms and a pantry.

Deluxe Two-Bedroom Suite
Ranging from traditional to modern décor, the Deluxe Two-Bedroom Suites offer approximately 1,300 square feet of space and feature a king bed in the master bedroom with either a king or two twin beds in the second bedroom. These spacious accommodations provide views overlooking either Madison Avenue or 76th Street. Individually decorated, each suite has two full baths and a kitchenette, ideal for longer visits.

Royal Suite
The Royal Suite is an elaborate two-bedroom suite offers 1,700 square feet of living space and features both a king-bedded and twin-bedded bedroom. There is a full kitchen, dining room for six, two marble bathrooms, a double-high ceiling in the raised living room, grand piano and mantle fireplace. This suite is located on the 22nd floor and features views sweeping skyline and East River views. Tastefully appointed and individually decorated by Alexandra Champalimaud, the Royal Suite features original hardwood floors, area rugs, luxurious fabrics and linens, and unique artwork adorning its walls.

Empire Suite
The Empire Suite, a duplex located on the 28 and 29 floors, blurs the line between hotel accommodations and a residential apartment. Offering 2,600 square feet of living, the suite features two king-bedded bedrooms, an office, four-and-a-half bathrooms, walk-in closets, full kitchen, a private art collection, and breathtaking views of Central Park and of the New York City skyline. Interior designer Thierry Despont took inspiration from both the American and French Deco periods to provide guests with the ultimate experience of staying in a world-class hotel.
